Baked Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

This recipe for baked macaroni and cheese is wonderful and quite easy to prepare. The rich baked macaroni and cheese recipe combines the tasty flavors of different cheese types in addition to sautéed garlic and onion in a rich creamy sauce. If you like that smoky taste, then you can add a touch of liquid smoke.

The preparation time for this recipe is about fifty minutes. The ingredients for baked cheese macaroni include one package of macaroni, one fourth cup of butter, one cup minced onion, one and a half a tablespoon of garlic paste, one fourth cup of flour, one and a half cup milk, and half a cup of cream. You will also need half a teaspoon of mustard powder, one cup of shredded Swiss cheese, half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, one cup of grated Parmesan cheese, half cup of breadcrumbs and salt and pepper as per taste.

Preheat the oven to 370 degrees and lightly butter a 9”x13” baking pan. Melt butter in a large saucepan over a medium flame. Sauté the onion for about three minutes until it becomes soft, and then add the garlic. Stir fry for two more minutes and then add the flour slowly and keep stirring continuously. Add cream and milk gradually, while stirring constantly. Put in the mustard powder, salt and pepper and add all types of cheese, one after the other. Keep stirring continuously. Lastly, add the prepared macaroni and pour this mixture into the baking pan. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top. Bake in the oven for about thirty minutes and allow to cool for five to ten minutes before it is served.
