Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Potatoes and Peas Recipe

Baked macaroni and cheese with potatoes and peas is simple to prepare and will be a hot favorite of the kids. The ingredients for this recipe are one package of elbow macaroni, two cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, three medium sized potatoes, one cup of fresh green peas, oil, three tbsp butter, two tbsp flour, four cloves garlic, half cup of full cream, two cups of milk, half cup breadcrumbs, salt and pepper as you like, and four tbsp of pasta tomato sauce.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick slices. Fry the potato slices in oil lightly and let them remain crunchy. Set them aside. Prepare the white sauce by melting two tbsp butter in a sauce pan. Fry flour lightly butter and add milk and cream gradually by constantly stirring, until the sauce thickens to a smooth consistency.

Preheat the oven to 370 degrees. Now, melt one tbsp butter in a frying pan and sauté minced garlic. Add the green peas and sauté for a minute. Add the prepared macaroni and stir fry for one minute. Lastly add the shredded cheese and creamy white sauce and cook for a minute. Flavor with salt and pepper and remove from heat. Grease a baking dish and add this mixture to it. Spread the fried potato slices evenly on top and cover with the pasta sauce. Top with bread crumbs and bake for half an hour. Remove from the oven and serve after ten minutes.
